Tradekings Zambia Joins Forces with Bupilo Foundation to Donate 155 Dignity Packs for Christmas
During the Christmas season of 2021, Bupilo Foundation partnered with Trade Kings Group Zambia and received a generous donation of K70,000 to fund the donation of 155 dignity packs to women and girls in need. These dignity packs were donated through our period poverty relief initiative, The Basizana Project.
The beneficiaries of this donation included 35 orphaned girls from the Fountain of Hope Association and 120 female inmates from the Mukobeko Maximum Correctional Facility. We were proud to be joined by Cleo Ice Queen, who participated in the donation drive at the Fountain of Hope Association where each of the girls received a dignity pack. Each pack included a variety of essential feminine hygiene products as well as two sustainable menstrual hygiene products; reusable pads and menstrual cups.
According to feedback from the girls of Fountain of Hope Association, oftentimes, the girls are forced to resort to using pieces of cloth to manage their periods as the availability of sanitary materials is solely dependent on donations. The provision of reusable menstrual hygiene products will provide them with a sustainable, long-term solution to taking care of their menstrual hygiene.
