Prudential and BuPilo Foundation Come Together For Women’s Month
Lusaka, Zambia – On the 30th of March 2022, the BuPilo Foundation held a Women’s donation drive, which was sponsored by Prudential Life Assurance Zambia. The drive was held at Messiah Community school in Lilayi, and was graced by Zambian songstress, Esther Chungu, who was the guest of honour.
Various items including wash basins, toiletries and menstrual hygiene products were handed out to the girls. Additionally, a short training session in which the girls were educated on the importance of menstrual products and hygiene was conducted, whilst the guest of honour also addressed the girls.
This initiative is part of the Basizana project, which aims to eradicate period poverty in Zambia and bring an end to menstrual absenteeism through partnering with menstrual cup and re-usable pad manufacturers to provide sustainable menstrual supplies and menstrual health training to rural girls across Zambia.
